Why would he be concerned? They have a contract with PBC and AL Haymon to showcase fighters between Showtime and CBS networks.

Espinoza needs to regularly showcase 5 to 10 guys regularly on his network to get better numbers.

My opinion the reason why HBO got better numbers is because people know more about Crawford than anyone that Showtime show cased.

Well then that's a big problem for Showtime...

Espinoza loves mentioning how competition is a great thing, but his side is getting blown out on a regular basis.

At some point people have to actually start tuning in and watching these fights.

Crawford got a higher rating than both Mares-Cuellar and Charlo-Williams combined.

He sounds like a head coach after multiple losing seasons and knows he gon get fired asked by reporters if they are worried about their job they always say they are not concerned. Most of they get fired days or weeks later. LMAO Espinoza lying his azzz off. How he still has a job with how bad showtime ratings have gone the last 2 years is beyond me.

I don't think its debatable that Showtime has been showing the more competitive & better fights, but they clearly aren't getting the fans watching for whatever reason (many theories on that which I & others have brought up, but I'll avoid getting deep into that right now).

That said I think the Joshua signing is a potential game changer like the Floyd signing was a few years back that could leap them in front of HBO. The mistake they made with the Floyd signing was they seemed to get out of the boxing business after all the money they spent on Floyd & were more or less exclusively in the Floyd business. Can't grow Showtime boxing when you aren't growing anyone off of those Floyd fights so many people were watching. This time around with Joshua they ideally should be trying to throw Wilder, the Charlo's &/or other up & coming guys on Joshua cards or advertising these other guys heavily during Joshua fights. This is assuming Joshua can catch fire in the states like he has in the UK which is still a unknown & likely will heavily depend on him beating Klitschko, impressively hopefully, next time out.

And he shouldn't be worried. Showtime has been upping the ante on HBO for a few years now. He's sacrificing ratings for content. As a boxing head I'm all in.

Dude showtime ratings fell off a cliff 2 years ago when haymon created PBC and took all his fighters to other networks. Now Showtime getting half or a third the ratings they used to get for these same fighters when they come back to showtime. Totally crippled the showtime boxing brand. They go months without any fights because they hitched their wagon to haymon and he screwed them over because if haymon succeeds with pbc it makes showtime irrelevant. Showtime has no stars, and most of their fighters aren't even under contract so they investing in fighters but their next fight could be on another network where they don't reap the benefits. Espinoza let this train go off the rails under his watch.

Nobody gives a **** about Joshua in the US, which is Sho subscriber base. If they start caring hell jump to Hbo to maximize his income and exposure

Funny that both articles come out in the same week. Espinoza needs to get canned. Get someone with a new perspective. Unless this is all by design by Haymon and company. I can envision a scenario where Espinoza is shown the door, and Schaefer of all people takes over the position. This seems eerily similar to what both did with Oscar and the GBP stable. No fighters with exclusive contracts, just on a fight by fight basis.

I don't know that I see Joshua as the game-changer you do.

European-based fights just don't usually do big tv numbers in the US.

How many US opponents are there that are big enough to bring him to the US and also generate significant ratings against?
