Apparently, the WBC is ordering Spence vs Bradley?...when previously, they didn't have Spence ranked. Weird. Everyone knows that Spence has been in line to fight Brook for the IBO for a while.
Either one of two things is happening here.
1. The WBC sees a lot of $ with Spence has their future champion and wants to build a relationship with him. Seems like a good idea from the WBC but why wouldn't they at least have him ranked before?
2. Spence's people (Al Haymon) think the Brook fight is too dangerous, especially since it would most likely take place in England against a huge 147 in his prime. Bradley is great, but on the downside of his career, and his chin isn't what it once was. This is a much safer fight for Spence.
This isn't a thread hating on Spence. I think Spence is the real deal and I think he would fight Brook with no problems. This is more about the motivations of Haymon and/or the WBC.
