He may have an iconic name but most Mexican/Hispanic people I known hate JCC. They see him as some rich kid riding daddy's coattails.
There was a bit of a rivalry a few years ago but Canelo probably couldn't care less about JCC now.

I really don't understand it....the guy disappears for a little while and people forget what a complete and utterly useless piece of crap Jr is...and now they want to promote a big money fight with Canelo? And the sad part is they will and all kinds of morons will buy into it.

But I'd watch too ! What's the downside ? Either (a) Junior puts on a good show in which case it will be a good fight or (b) Canelo starches him
Who wouldn't enjoy (b) ? (even got a feeling Sr. wouldn't mind Jr getting put in his place).
Only real downside is Jr. shows up for the money and quits on his stool with a toe injury after 3 rounds or something, but I don't think Mexico allows fighters to quit while at least 3 limbs are still attached, so unlikely.

And yes of course Jr will take it for the money...he has never been able to compete with a top tier fighter. Jr's activity was better last Sat but he fought a guy who was small and a 'B' fighter which is his specialty....smaller 'B' fighters. By the end of the fight he was fighting with his left down low...Canelo will KO him if he does that.
