I like it. Heiland's kind of a weak link though and like you I doubt Lemieux will participate. And, being a Top Rank fighter, I guess Murata will pursue the WBO rather than the WBC. Maybe Monroe Jr or Sulecki for the fourth man, assuming Lemieux drops out?

In general I wish the sanctioning bodies would take a more active role in making their ranked fighters face each other. A few possible rules could be: (1) you get dropped altogether if you don't fight for a year, (2) ranked fighters can only face other ranked fighters, (3) you only become the mandatory challenger through winning a yearly elimination tournament composed of the four highest ranked contenders willing or able to participate

I hope to hell the IBF makes Tureano Johnson fight Derevyanchenko, b/c as of right now both are weak contenders based on their current accomplishments.

        new WBC rankings

Damn, they dropped Andy Lee from the rankings and elevated Curtis Stevens to #3 b/c he has some fringe WBC title.

I'm not sure Khytrov will be considered available as he has a fight early next month, also not sure David Lemieux would accept an invitation. Derevyanchenko is the IBF #2 and waiting to hear if he'll fight Tureano, so it could be

        Heiland/Sulecki
        Stevens/Murata

I'm alot less excited about that if so. I'd pick Sulecki to KO Heiland, but not sure if Murata can outbox Stevens. I could see Stevens catching Murata, then KO'ing Sulecki, and that would make Stevens the WBC mando to GGG - yuck.

1 .- Jorge Sebastian Heiland (Argentina)
2 .- Ievgen Khytrov (Ukraine) NABF
3 .- Curtis Stevens (US) AMERICA
        4 .- David Lemieux (Canada)
        5 .- Ryota Murata (Japan)
        6 .- Sergey Derevyanchenko (Ukraine)
        7 .- Maciej Sulecki (Poland)
        8 .- Avtandil Khurtsidze (Ukraine)
        9 .- Willie Monroe (US) * CBP/P
        10 .- Matt Korobov (Russia)
        11 .- Arif Magomedov (Russia) * CBP/P
        12 .- Tommy Langford (GB) COMM/BBB C * CBP/P
        13 .- Hugo Centeno, Jr. (US) * CBP/P
        14 .- Antoine Douglas (US) * CBP/P
15 .- Emmanuele Blandamura (Italy) EBU

I wish Lemieux/Stevens would just fight already. I'd prefer if Khurtzsidze was in the tourney. The Lemieux/Stevens winner would face Canelo, while GGG faces Saunders/N'Dam. If GGG/Canelo doesn't get made, then GGG could fight the new WBC mandatory.

**** Heiland, he's just sat on the #1 position without doing anything for last 2 years. All those other guys wreck him. I could see Lemieux dropping out to purse Canelo or Saunders and maybe Lee or Murata taking his spot.
He was waiting for that title shot!

Stevens is a dangerous fight for Lemieux b/c he plays into Stevens wheel house of standing in front of Stevens and ****ing. It's a bad match up for Lemieux and I think his team knows it.

I'd love a Stevens/Khurtsidze fight, but idk if that's possible b/c of the Roizer & Stark connection. As of now, this WBC tourney looks ****, but the winner is still better than the current option of Heiland. Even if Heiland won it, he'd have more credibility.
