Comments Thread For: James DeGale: To Emulate Joe Calzaghe Would Mean Everything

James DeGale is inspired by the prospect of emulating Joe Calzaghe when he fights Badou Jack in a super-middleweight unification match-up on January 14. The IBF champion meets WBC belt-holder Jack at New York's Barclays Center in a fight that will unify two of the four 168lb titles and establish which of the two is truly the division's number one.

Kessler in his prime, Froch got beat of a Kessler coming off form 3-2. Anybody that thinks Froch is equal to Calzaghe knows nothing about boxing

Calzaghe v Froch would go 12 rounds and Calzaghe's greater punch output and skills would make it a virtual clean sweep over those 12 rounds.

Froch's resume craps all over Calzaghe's.

calzghe did throw a lot of punches(debatable if that is a punch but it was something) degale doesn't do that at all. sometimes he barely throws.

Eubank Sr. Prime Mikkel Kessler, Lacy, Hopkins, disagrees with you. Who did Froch beat? a Limited Middleweight Abraham? A passed his prime Kessler? or The not so special Lucian Bute?

                  Calzaghe was way overrated......

His greatest accomplishment was fighting a very young and inexperience Kessler, undersized Lacey and over the hill Hopkins and Jones. Two of the latter almost knocked him out in the first round. Froch record and accomplishments are far superior and really don't believe Calslappy deserves HOF status. Calzaghe would have never agreed to fight in the super 6.

He's done a good job emulating the arm punching so far
