      Prima Ishida rips Canelo apart.
D'Amato should allways be mentioned with Kevin Rooney ,but its hard to judge next Tyson trainers cuse he was unfocused ,,was drinking and takeing Drugs.

Wolfe can get James in shape but thats it.He wont be sudenly outboxing Cotto ,Wolfe is Rooney but they have no D'Amato in theyr camp, and talent is not there, like in Tyson case.

People say she gets him in shape but does she? How good of in shape can he be with that type of training? I have to bring up the Molina fight again. In that fight he was exhausted and getting manhandled letting himself get clinched.

Again, people act as if Wolfe turns Kirkland into a whole different animal. In the Canelo fight he wasn't with Wolfe and he still came out in beast mode but we know what happened. How much of a difference would had she really made in that fight? It's still the same no defense, no chin fighter.

I agree ,her methods probably made James washed up by now,bet he wasnt in bad shape with her, some boxer just gas quick even if they train good, sometimes style make them gas out.

Think about how punishing her training methods could be on him. The guy is huge and cutting down to 154 lbs. Add her training methods to that and makes you wonder how punishing that **** is on his body.

Cotto cuts up so easy, this one could get stopped on cuts.

I do hope he still got a couple of more fights left in him and even though I disagree with the way she trains her fighters she's probably the only one who can get him in super human shape.
Shot? Prime Kirkland got absolutely beat down by Ishida.

This isn't some once great athlete that's over the hill. He's just a mediocre boxer with some power in his hands. There is only so much Wolfe has to work with.

I never said Kirkland was this amazing boxer. He's all about heart and physical condition. There's no way he would've beaten Angulo had it not been for the condition Wolfe got him in. Wolfe is not teaching him any new things as far as technique, skills. I mean Kirklands boxing is straight forward take two punches to land a big one, he takes punishment in every fight. Wolfe has always been about get him in that type of real fighting shape he needs to be in to get the best out of him and hope he can go through wars. Now in order for Kirkland to be able to handle a training camp like that his body must hold up so he better not be shot.

i had to read it twice to figure out what was going on.

even if kirkland shows up prepared he's still an aging, if not shot fighter. the guy has been taking big shots for a long time now.

some aspects of the style clash would normally give you some confidence in kirkland, but the guy is an inactive shell of what he used to be, and even then he was just a brawler with a good gas tank and power. kirkland is left handed, and cotto has always been a sucker for straight shots trhough the center. kirkland is bigger than cotto. cotto does not deal well with pressure from guys who throw a lot of punches. he's most effective when he fights from the middle of the ring.

all of that said, kirkland is still a limited fighter and well past his prime. cotto's a very polished boxer, counterpuncher, and puncher. he hasn't forgotten how to box, how to punch, how to keep kirkland off balance and trying to land shots on a target that really isn't there. i expect cotto to be able to turn kirkland and keep off of the ropes. UD or more likely mid - late stoppage.

now, if kirkland still ahs the footspeed and head movement to get cotto on the ropes, his power is still a factor. and there's obviously the chance that an explosive puncher with decent handspeed like kirkland can land a big shot and turn the fight.

punchers' chance. exciting fight. but liekly a fight whose conclusion we all know. kirkland is not on the level of miguel cotto.

what i don't like about this ifght is that it is on ppv. i get it, cotto commands too much money now to get on regular hbo. he'd retire if they didn't give him this type of money. he's probably trying to tune up for a rematch with pacquiao, mayweather, or canelo. maybe marquez comes out of retirement. cotto is in it for th emoney. always has been, and he' snever lied to fans about loving boxing. it's just a career for him.
