So is this because happening because Roc Nation owes Cotto money or HBO owes Cotto money?

Because if it's HBO here we go again with potentially a depressing year of fights.

Even though the Vargas card is a strong card.

Pathetic, Cotto who has fought at 155 for years now wants this bloke to come down to 152 for what?! Advantage he can get, he should have just fought Marquez at 147, hope he gets sparked.

153? That's as pointless as when he fought Martinez at 159.

Why suffer the PR backlash for 1lb.? Reports are that Kirkland is around 200lbs.! I hope he doesn't make weight, and the fight is cancelled! Cotto needs to pick a division, and pick from the top of that division, or retire!

There is no reason to have the fight lower than 154. Canelo and Cotto are getting outrageous with this catchweight ****! He even asked for 152. Kirkland wanted the fight so I get why he signed, glad they negotiated to 153 however, who would Cotto fight if Kirkland stood his ground at 154 that is even known? He would not fight any of the young guys like Charlo brothers. He could have fought J-Rock who just lost.
