It's sad to see how far the sport has regressed in the last 10 years. For all Ezpinoza's noise, Showtime still can't draw fuck all.

Yep. If the Super 6 had been on HBO Andre Ward would damn near be on Canelo's level.Originally posted by Rudiamonds;17275043HBO's for the casuals showtimes for the Hardcores it's a simple as that it's always been that way

no he wouldn't.he's been fighting on HBO for years and still not a big name. the big ppv with kov flopped.he's not a star and never will be.his fighting style is unappealing and his personality outside the ring is really bland.Comment

HBO at 31 million vs Showtime at 23.5 million, about 30% more for HBO, yet the ratings are more than double. It's more than just about subscribers.
Showtime was neck and neck with HBO before Haymon tanked Showtime in 2014 with his spree of money grabbing tune up bouts.Comment

ya but the reality is hbo holds the boxing viewers subscribers. why else would boxing fans not watch better fights on showtime......because there were tuneups 3 years ago?HBO at 31 million vs Showtime at 23.5 million, about 30% more for HBO, yet the ratings are more than double. Sorry if Al's tune up bouts drove a lot of their boxing subscribers away.
But it's more than that. Haymon hasn't developed the names/status/brand of his fighters. He spread them out over all these different networks and put them in meaningless **** fights, b/c he was more worried about hurting the competition than building his own guys.
There might be better fights on Showtime, but there's bigger names on HBO. Status matters over skill whether we like it or not.Comment
