Wlad won a belt against Byrd who shouldnt even be a HW and Wlad already KO him before, so its not like he did something special

Because Im a boxing fan and no one wants to watch that ****. Do you? There supposed to be these great fighters but they hold the whole fight? I cant rank those type of guys high if they do that and the other guys dont. Also Im upset because these lower class guys mightve beaten them there ownselevs if they fought withouth holding

Corrie Sanders pushed WLad off and KOed Wlad, what Collazo almost did tonight.

YOu are biased and should really consider being less biased. Admit that your boy Hatton is not what you guys hyped him up to be.

it's cowardly and ugly to hold repeatedly

It's ugly and it wears the opponents out but you can get away with it because refs dont like to take points away for holding.

Then you watch Hatton and he does it alot also. He's been doing it more and more recently.

They shouldnt be allowed to do that all the time. No one likes Ruiz because of that
Yep it's horrible for boxing for refs to allow strategic holding, done by fighters when they can't fight on the inside (Wladimir Klitschko) or don't want to fight on the inside (Ruiz) or out of force of habit (Hatton). There has to be an answer, because it hurts boxing to allow it. Tying up inside occasionally when you're tired or hurt is acceptable, but not repeatedly, 10 to 15 times per round. Fighting is a sport, but it's also an art and a science. It's been called the "Sweet Science" but it ain't sweet at all when guys hold all the time. Holding is a foul and should not be tolerated when it becomes excessive.

                Taken from: http://www.wbarecords.com/manual/fouls.htm :

                3. HOLDING

Pay attention. Some boxers work on using this illegal tactic. Holding is one of the most obvious poor tactics in the sport of boxing. It not only infuriates the fans, but it negates action during the bout. Therefore, it should be addressed accordingly.

This foul occurs in various forms. A boxer may hold his opponent's arms, hands, body, or shoulders with either of his hands or arms.

At times, the holding boxer is not to blame as when one boxer pushes or leans on his opponent and the latter loses balance and holds on.

It should be noted that when one of the boxers pushes his arms underneath the arms of his opponent, does not withdraw them, and his opponent then delivers blows, the Referee should not interrupt this counter attack, but rather admonish the boxer pushing his arms underneath.

What can I say? These are the rules.

I am German, so I am used to European Boxing, and - to be honest with you - I hate it. The American style is what I love.

Klitschko holds all the time then turns aound and then his fans complain he got punched to the back of the head. He even held Chris Byrd who has no real punch and is half his size. That's a world champion?

Have not seen the Hatton fight so I cannot comment on that.

European boxing is kind of save, but not a real joy to watch (at least not for me) - too much defense and counter boxing (Ottke, Beyer,...).

I thought it was only Steward's tall fighters that held

                      Blame Steward. LOL
Here's a good one: I thought it was only Emanuel Steward's tall fighters that used persistent holding as an important part of their fighting style. Hatton is not trained now by Steward, but if he was trained awhile ago, it's a new twist on the issue if Hatton's holding was suggested by Steward. Actually I doubt it very much, since Hatton's holding seems to be just a habit. I don't see what good it does him, since he should be punching on the inside, not grappling.
