I gave Julian a slight edge going in to the fight but to say he was dominating the fight until he got caught is a stretch. He got dropped in the second round by a jab!! Although he did recover from it you can't call that dominating. Did he put up a good fight, yes he did, but not dominating. I mean he got dropped three times and twice in the same round. I do hope he comes back strong though no shame losing to Charlo and besides Charlo is a huge super welterweight anyways.

Thing about Trout was he wasn't fighting as aggressive as Julian. Julian left himself exposed going after Charlo, where Trout was more responsible and probably knows better how to take punches after fighting guys like Canelo and Cotto. The lack of drug testing for this last fight also leaves a cloud of uncertainty also.
There was no drug testing in this Charlo vs Williams fight?...

First thing he needs is tougher fights and tougher sparring.

I saw an interview with his trainer where he said they just use local guys for sparring. When you arent fighting the best fighters you should at least be sparring top level guys.

I do believe he will come back stronger. Even if his chin is **** (i dont think it will be that bad) they can at least legislate for it and plan around it. Thats why fighting competitive fights and getting top level sparring matters. How can you improve if you dont know your flaws?

I hope he can get a tough but winnable comeback fight next year. No more of those guys he was facing who dont test him in any way. Thats on Haymon. Williams will take the tough fights, he doesnt want to be fighting these ****ters

Not VADA or USDA. Some California state testing I believe.

That catch & shoot counter was unbelievable!!!!
One of the best knockout shots I've ever seen!!!
Reflexes, skill & power were all needed for that shot! #Charlo
