Comments Thread For: Joe Smith Jr. Assures Hopkins' Head Games Won't Work Against Him

NEW YORK Joe Smith Jr. sat directly across from Bernard Hopkins last week, surrounded by a table full of reporters in a Manhattan meeting room. As Hopkins spoke, sometimes for several minutes without interruption, Smith seemed almost astounded at the loquacious legend's ability to continue talking. And talking. And talking. And talking. And talking. And talking.

Good to see Smith getting some exposure. Good kid, good work ethic, still improving. Should lose but not without some interesting rounds. Looking forward to his next fight, and hopefully he can finally go full time.

              I believe he's retiring.

Slow start in boxing, tactical style and strict diet... His "prime" extending into his 40s wasn't that big of a surprise.

50s are a different story. The decline will come swiftly.
