agaisnt top competition he has to hold, it's apart of his style to stop the other fighter from getting off punches. it was an integral part of his win against tszyu, and if hatton hadn't of clinched in the collazo fight then he would have been knocked down and lost the fight.

CLINCHING IS A STYLE. A TECHNIQUE. NOT A FOUL.

Hatton did his job, won the fight, needs to improve, and then he can prove himself. U must give Hatton another chance. for the millionth time, hatton underestimated the weight and power difference. He needs to recalibrate, readjust, and work on protecting his face. When he learns to do this, he can take on some big names like Mayweather and Cotto. Right now, Hatton is the best Junior Welter Weight, no reason why he cant be a great Welterweight with enough improvement in his next training camp

Ya I know it's a technique. I'm not really calling ir a foul(although a better ref would penalize most likely). It's just not something you see so often from a welterweight. It's like, his style is exciting as he's charging in swinging. Though as soon as he gets within 1 foot range, he's grabs and holds. This is where the excitement stops and it just annoys you.
