The IBF has a second day weigh in (you are weighed the MORNING of the fight) and you're not allowed to be over 10 pounds of the original weight. But you can keep gaining weight during that day.

For example the IBF fight between Golovkin and Lemieux had Lemieux weighin 175 pounds at fight night.
Just what I was about to say.

I like the IBF ruling on how much weight can be gained but it should not be morning of the fight but rather a cut off of 2 hours pre-fight. Also, I still feel 10lb is too much. If you're fighting in a division, you should be weighing in at as close to the divisional limit as possible.

I know, with 24 hour weigh ins, you're going to get some weight gain but it should be limited to 5lb max. None of this "I'm a light middleweight or welterweight etc" but then on fight night you weigh in at light heavyweight lol Thats ridiculous and dangerous.

Yea, Lampley has also stated Geale weighed in clothed vs someone, I think either Golovkin or Cotto, and he was around 181lb's. Makes more sense to believe it was vs Golovkin due to the catchweight vs Cotto.

Yep, I found that weird also, not because I follow Cuellar but because the commentators said he's supposedly massive.

They probably were heavier by the time they hit the ring in the evening. Charlo certainly was. But, so far as I know, there is no rule saying that boxers must be weighed immediately before entering the ring or that the weights must be made public if they do.
This probably explains this. Lara, Trout all show up at around 170, give or take, so a guy like Jermall who is bigger than both seems weird that he'd come into the ring at 158, especially when past records show 170 like the others.

Probably Haymon's doing. He ain't dumb. I'm sure he sees how fans ridicule fighters that gain a lot of weight after the weigh-in so he probably wants to portray his fighters as fighting at their natural weight.

All you dummies keep clowning the T.S. for trying to make it some conspiracy. It's not a conspiracy within the rules of boxing because they can weight whatever they want. It's a conspiracy in the sense that Haymon is just manipulating the viewers.

Seems like it's working too. Y'all see Canelo or Crawford on HBO gaining a bunch of weight and think they have an unfair advantage.

You see Cuellar gain 2.5 pounds, or Charlo and Williams gain 5 pounds and you give them props.

You're a dumb motherf**ker if you think that was their weights.

Erislandy Lara is known for rehydrating between 166 and 171. On his last fight against Vanes, they said Lara's fight night weight was 160. Strange...

Now they claim Charlo and Williams were 158 and 159 respectively.

WTF is going on? Charlo looked HUGE and:

            * 158 is what most WW weigh.
            * He was at 170 for a fight on december 2014. It's clear that was his real weight back in the day. No way he lost 12 pounds...

I understand that fight night weight has become an issue lately, and fighters/promoters are hiding them. But lying about them? Mayweather style I guess.

Those have to be, the IBF morning weight numbers.

State of California now has the policy of doing secondary morning weigh-ins where the fighter can't rehydrate more than 10lbs (or some %), so does Pennsylvania.

Sounds strange. Why? go and check IBF morning weights. By that time all the fighters have put on 10 pounds. How come these have only put 5? and Charlo is recorded at 170 two years ago, it's not like he's a small JMW.

Some guys can rehydrate better than others.

Some get affected more and others it is just not an issue. The older they get the harder is to play with the weight

so without weighing the men, the person running the website the TS cites guesses at their weight and Maxi takes it as gospel.

ok, nothing more to see here.
