Fighters who are pretty well known but not superstars..

For fighters who are pretty well known but not superstars ie. Gary Russell, Dirrell Bros, ex champs who are still young, how do they maintain after being off the radar for so long? I know fighters like them made some decent money from their bit of fame but what about now? How do they manage? Regular jobs in the meantime? ..Quillen, Anthony Peterson, Gamboa, etc..

The thing is, boxers on even that level still make far more in 1 fight than the guy with an average income might make in 2 or 3 years. Even if they fought once a year or 18 months or so and got paid $250k, it's still better than most peoples salary right?

They might not be able to live like kings but if they're not totally ****** with the money, they can be fairly comfortable. It's once they retire and the money isn't coming anymore, that's the problem.

I'm sure it differs from fighter to fighter though, how responsible they are with their money but guys like Peterson should have made enough money throughout his career to be able to invest in property or something, maybe nothing major but something to keep an income coming in.

              Great insight. Thanks.
