People like Ricky Hatton the person.

His style gets the job done. Does it not?

      He won, again.

      Boom. There you have it.

Calzaghe by far is the only fighter that i like compared to Hatton. Hatton like to clinch alot. I haven't seen this fight yet, but i can tell from what i am hearing that he clinched alot. I mean Hatton is a good fighter, but clinching all the time can get annoying. This is why i don't look up to him. Lets see if Hatton will move up to 147 for bigger fights.

Against Mayweather his entire gameplan would be trying to close the gap as fast as possible. Hatton can close the gap faster than anybody in the sport, but after tonights fight and the three fights before that I don't know if Ricky is quite the same fighter he used to be up-close for if he actually does close the gap fast enough and get up-close with Mayweather.

              I can't disagree PHX.

We know he's not Sugar Ray Robinson.

              I just appreciate a winner, that's all.

              You're right though...

              I made money, again.

              Boom. There you have it.

the only other fight he held as much in was against kosta, and this was his strategy so tszyu couldn't throw that big straight right.

i hope it's just hatton getting used to 140 again. because all the haters can make as many threads as they want. the truth is that was nowhere near the level hatton can produce, that brittish fight fans have come to love.
he holds when he feels the guys power. and guess what! hes getting nothing but big names now. so take another guess what his strategy will be.

and not exciting in the states means not big exposure all around

Nobody gets the better of the old Hatton up-close, but I can't help but feel he's missed the boat.

                    hatton's style is NOTHING SPECIAL
he holds WAY TOO MUCH and often fights dirty

and people say he's a great body puncher.
i've seen better body punchers than him. many of'em.
even urango through more damaging body shots in the fight...
