Jeff Horn had some difficulty with Ali Funeka, but ultimately overcame it Saturday to win by technical knockout.
The unbeaten Australian welterweight contender floored Funeka with a right hand early in the sixth round. Funeka reached his feet, but he stood on unsteady legs, which caused referee Marlon Wright to stop their scheduled 10-rounder 40 seconds into the sixth round at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.

Would be nice for young guys like Horn to fight at least one opponent in the top 25 in their division before writers start talking about them fighting for major alphabetic titles, but the alphabet boys have given far worse fighters alphabet belt shots

Just saw the fight. Horn jumping in way too wide from the very start of the fight, looking painfully obvious he's trying for an early knockout. And Funeka not looking like any kind of veteran, not taking advantage. I think Box Nation commentators made a good point about Horn leveraging his shots by using his legs, but there's no variety, it's all single big swing after single big swing and then he jumps out looking all off balance. Anyways, I'll give him some credit, he landed some really good overhand rights at the end of the fifth and the sixth to close it out. Tightening up his guard should be priority going forward.
