hopkins was legitimately holding it together at the world title level very recently. Won three IBF title fights back to back then went 12 rounds with arguably the p4p best fighter in the sport

Roy has been a washed up circus act since before half the posters here had internet, getting ktfo and holding "fight a fan" events
    Word.

How many other athletes were world champions in a sport at 49 years old? Let alone a sport as physically gruelling as boxing. I mean, going 12 rounds with Kovalev at that age is an achievement by itself, could you imagine Roy doing that? Maybe in 1999.

As for a 3rd fight. No thanks, the second one was a horrendous spectacle.

I wouldn't mind seeing another one ...after years of trash talk, they made the rematch. Jones went into the fight with the mindset that he wasn't going to back down from Hopkins' dirty tactics . Hopkins did something...a punch out of a break or something, Jones retaliated, and it became a melee in the ring with both camps . They regained order, and surprisingly let the fight continue. The built up animosity would make it a good HBO cable, or even PPV undercard bout.

A rematch isn't needed. Everyone knows that Hopkins would win easily. All you need to do is look at the quality of the opponents they are fighting and how they are doing in those fights. Hopkins rarely loses and he was a world champion until recently. Jones hasn't been close to being a champion and he has been knocked out.

the 1st fight jones indeed blew hopkins out of the water.

a 3rd fight is a waste both are old men. prime for prime hopkins would never be able to do anything with jones. roy beat hopkins when it counted (right before he went on his long middleweight run)
