I watched the Vargas fight recently again and some of his older fights recently ..like Diaz. I actually don't see that much regression in physical abilities... He's just more technical and A LOT more of a counterpuncher now... he's just a little less meaner...

I honestly thinks he beats Crawford. Bud hasn't faced a guy like Pac..His experience will win out.

I'd be a little worried for Pac against Canelo. Pac would certainly outbox him . But he's prone to get hit by at least 3-4 good overhand rights each fight. Question is... Can he take it from a much bigger guy at this stage?

Well, I can't say that I'm surprised by any of these comments. A Canelo fight is definitely a money fight and doesn't really do anything for Manny (it would put another ATG on the list of people Canelo has fought though), although I would tune in for that fight over a VLom fight, but I don't like it more than a Crawford fight, who Pac's team is obviously not interested in. They can't fight stiffs, but that doesn't explain why Vargas fought Pacman instead of Thurman, Garcia, or even Brook. If his team is willing to go up in weight instead of fighting people in his own division or fighting someone who is around his weight and makes political sense, they become part of the many problems with boxing... boxers picking and choosing who they want to fight to minimize their risk of fame while maximizing their money. There should be a better balance of that...

Its not the Mayweather route , Canelo was 170+ against Floyd , Roach wants to cap him at 164 .

If you know anything about weight Roach by capping Canelos weight on fight night is gaining so much more advantage than Floyd had .

If you pull a guy down a couple of pounds and he does it hard but gets there ok and then allow him rehydrate back to his full weight on fight night the CW can have little effect on him , if he cannot make the weight the CW weight will wreck him , a easy way to spot any damage is does the guy fade over the later rounds and generally just looks sluggish with no snap , Canelo a known fader finished strong against Floyd , the match was boxing it was not a physical fight which makes the CW even less effect .

Now put a cap on Canelo at 164 on the night as Roach wants which is a full 10 pounds lighter than he normally is , he will be a rag doll on fight night .

I guarantee you if Canelo said how about 152 CW same as Floyd , Roach would not take it , as he said he is more concerned about fight night weight than weigh-in weight , I gave the reasons why .

Look dip**** no matter how you slice it, Canelo's the waaaaayyyyy bigger fighter and human being. Point blank period.

Gennady took a ton of heat around here for fighting Brook, and rightfully so. How would this be any different, dip****?

And don't get it twisted, I'm not shading blame on Canelo for this as a topic. Obviously. It's Roach who's bringing it up. I'm just saying, it's clearly not a fair fight. There's a reason why there are weight classes.
I think we can agree that this ain't a fair faight at all.

This is Pac's take on his fight with Margarito. This should make it clear, ...Pac will not fight above 147 anymore.

This fight took a lot out of pac...arguably, it was the last of 'prime pac'

                http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...ivision-titles

Pacquiao's take: "This was my most physical and punishing fight. Antonio Margarito had such a reach and weight advantage over me. My ribs ached for a long time after that fight. Once was enough for me at that weight. When I was asked if I wanted to defend [the title] I said, 'No thanks!' That was the fight where I had reached my limit in terms of weight class. I fought a very good fight and the atmosphere at Cowboys Stadium was so memorable. I do think the fight should have been stopped. Margarito took a lot of punishment."
