Comments Thread For: Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Moises Flores Purse Bid on December 19

The WBA Championships Committee is on a roll with scheduling purse bids to push along some of the ordered fights that are stalling in drawn out negotiations. A purse bid has been ordered to force the fight between WBA Super World super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs), the two-time Olympic gold medal winner from Miami, Florida, by way of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, and Moises Flores (25-0, 17 KOs), the rugged puncher from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

The issue here isn't agreeing on the fight, they mentioned that they agreed on a deal a few months back, the issue is that no network wants to show Rigo fights anymore. I don't blame them. When you stink up the joint as many times as he has, and he was very unapologetic with regards to those performances, no one is going to want to show your fights.

So they can strike as many deals and win as many purse bids as they want, in the end it will come down to who wants to show his fights. Showtime doesn't. HBO definitely doesn't. Boxnation and Skysports will only showcase his fights if he's fighting a domestic fighter.

He's left in a bad position and he only has himself to blame.

Rigo has made poor decisions regarding his promoter and manager. I feel for him cuz no denying his skill and talent has made sure no big name around his division wants any part of him.

After this fight (assuming Rigo wins), he needs to move up to 126 (although I already believe Rigo is smaller than a lot of 122 lbers). Get whatever fights he can there if they don't continue to duck Rigo and then try to fight Loma. No matter the style, I want the best to fight the best. Rigo is one of the best. He and his team need to get it together.

75-25 split is an outrage. Flores should demand 40%......

              oh, wait.........
