Comments Thread For: Photo: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Top Form, On Weight For Return

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is in top form for Saturday's fight with German contender Dominik Britsch. Chavez Jr. worked hard for this contest under the tutelage of uncle and trainer Rodolfo Chavez. He is reportedly weighing 169-pounds, which is one pound above the super middleweight limit of 168 - the contracted weight for his return.

I have to admit Chavez Jr. is looking really good in this camp. I guess Marquez was right, Memo worked him into shape.

I almost feel like saying 'well done' to him for getting into shape. If Hopkins can get it together at 52 or whatever he is, then Julio Jr has no excuses and he's still only 18.

Professional Boxers should never receive credit for 'getting into shape'.

That's giving an airline pilot credit for staying sober at work.

Yep. Chris Rock had a great bit about that.
