Showtime would NOT be under "their own time window" genius. If the bid happens December 19th, the winning promoter has to stage the bout no sooner than 45 days and no longer than 90 days from the date of the winning bid.

45-90 days; with December 19th being the bid date, that'd set the window from February 4th through March 18th.

Broner's likely heading to Cincinatti in February, leaving Showtime/DiBella/Haymon to figure out whether Garcia-Thurman or Golovkin-Jacobs stays at Barclays Center in NYC (with the other bout likely headed to MGM Resorts).

February 18th from the Barclays Center, on PPV (Showtime runs their promotional material, pairing the final 'All Access' with a live fight featuring a name guy) doesn't seem like all that bad a landing spot for DiBella Entertainment/Showtime.

Garcia-Thurman gets moved to the MGM Grand (or even T-Mobile Arena if folks are feeling froggish) for a bout that's going to be build for primetime CBS, which isn't all that bad a consolation prize either.

If Jacobs vacates, how is that GGG's fault? GGG has the three belts, he's the A-side, Jacobs couldn't even sell out HALF of Barclay's, his hometown venue, vs Quillin. Jacobs should have taken what was offered months ago. He's in no position to dictate anything, so if he doesn't take what's offered, it's because he's scared, period, and doesn't want to fight GGG. He's about to get a chance at 3 belts and and a top 5 pound for pound guy... he should be jumping at the chance, whatever the money is. Dare to be great. If he ducks, it's on him.

If DiBella Entertainment controls the event, they get to set the terms to give Daniel Jacobs the best chance possible; fight finances are fight finance, but don't doubt for a moment that DiBella would stage the fight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and don't doubt for a moment that Stephen Espinoza is going to dig into the budget to properly market the fight (a bout that's likely going to PPV) or title the inetrnational TV rights towards the broadcasters that he already does business with.

If Jacobs' camp wasn't in position to put forward a competitive bid for the fight, K2 would've already forced the purse bid.

The scope is different, but Oscar De la Hoya digging into his pocket and putting up the money to secure N'Dam-Lemieux for Lemieux (Lemieux was the 7th/8th challenger while N'Dam was #1) basically won Lemieux his IBF title [with Golden Boy in control, the fight was staged in Montreal, the ref was from Montreal, the three judges were Canadian, and Golden Boy was apparently able to cut down the ring 2'-3' on each side down to a 17'x17'].

I sincerely don't get why folks like you see it as an impossibility, lol

The WBA have ruled that 25% is a fair cut for Jacobs, and Loeffler has already offered him more than that. So what's Danny's excuse for pissing about asking for interim fights instead of fighting for 3 world titles when he gets his chance?

Jacobs has apparently been in the gym since October, and his camp is up for the fight.

Haymon/DiBella will make sure that the money/terms are fair, but I don't see this fear anywhere.
