LOS ANGELES - December 10 marks a pivotal year for Abner Mares, the highly respected former three-division world champion. It marks over one year since fans saw him enter the ring on television and one year since the newly formed partnership of Mares and revered trainer Robert Garcia. It is a transformed Mares that will enter the ring on Saturday, December 10 when he takes on current WBA Featherweight World Champion Jesus Cuellar in a Premier Boxing Champions live event on SHOWTIME(r) (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT) from Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles.

The days when Mares was on the fringes of the p4p list are long gone. Even though I don't really rate Cuellar too highly i'm sceptical of the Cuellar-Mares match-up being as good as it appears, what with Mares limitations in terms of size and vision.

Abner in 126 pounds is a normal and ******ly basic boxer.

He doesn't have speed, power, footwork, good defense and offensive.

Man, Gonzalez K.Oed you in one ****in round, Leo being a basic boxer outboxed you for 12 ****in rounds.

                  You are finished.

And Cuellar is a s.h.it too but he is a natural 130-135 pounder. Mares a 122.

Plus Mares has the idiot of Garcia in his corner lol

Mares should just be in the undercards and stay as an undercard fighter till he retires.
