An old Russian proverb says that there no prophets in your own homeland. BoxingScene's Cliff Rold was exactly that type of prophet who had foreseen in his presumably bold prediction on the eve of one of the Russia's biggest fights that a hungry challenger will dethrone an old king, predating him in his own den.

This writer is wack. Gassiev reminds him of terry Norris? On what planet nortis was a boxer puncher gassiev puncher boxer. Norris moved jabbed combos def smooth not great chin. Gassiev doesn't move no d good chin no combos. He didn't have control from first round lost first couple of rounds. No way gassiev won by 5-6 rounds. Close fight 2 -3 the most . Liver shot game changer lebedev was going to outbox him but power changed that

The writer fails to mention that Cliff Rold scored the fight 116-112 for Lebedev.

Wow, if you hadn't seen the fight, the article would be very misleading. Gassiev was only "dominant" in spurts. If anything, he was mostly inconsistent. One doesn't need any more proof than the fact that Sanchez was yelling at him in between several of the rounds.
To act as if it's unclear who is better between he and Usyk is pretty questionable, IMO...

No offense, but comparing norris to gassiev is laughable.
Gassiev is young and has room for improvement but he didnt show much variety in his boxing.
For the most part he just threw single shots.

I had the fight 114-113 for lebedev

Anyone who had the fight for Lebedev is either a bias Lebedev fan or not capable of accurately scoring a fight. Regardless of Gassiev's potential or flaws inherent in his game, he clearly won the fight. I just don't see any room for controversy or dispute with the decision. Shafikov vs Commey was much harder to score as there were a lot of close rounds that could've gone either way.

I feel the same way about people who say "I just don't see any room for controversy" in regard to close fights. That's being extremely narrow minded.
I didn't keep score but I got the impression Gassiev did enough to win. I also saw him give away a LOT of rounds and can understand why some would argue for Lebedev.
