in real life, nobody ever talks about mma. sometimes people ask me about boxing, but only because they know i'm into it and want to make conversation. neither of these sports are popular and i hardly ever hear them being discussed. do you guys know what 1 million ppv buys is? that's not even 1% of the US population. it's 1/3 of 1%. you guys consider 1/3 of 1% to be a huge success and then you guys argue about A-side and B-side.

sometimes i think you guys confuse "casual fan" with "general public". ask any random person walking down the street what they think about canelo. most of them will ask you what the F is a canelo?

and yes, im implying that i hear the general public (random people i dont know), talking about boxing more than mma. but either one is pretty damn rare

Well, I think there is room for both sports.

I still think it is going to be a while before the average MMA guy matches the professionalism of the average boxer, but strides are being made every day.

I think the huge edge MMA has over Boxing is that it is simply easier to understand.

It is much closer to a street fight (with rules) than boxing is.

Hence, it is easier to figure out what is going on.

Kovalev/Ward is proof that even longtime fans (and experts) can differ on what happened in the ring. MMA is more clear cut and therefore more fan friendly.

To me, boxing is the better sport...but it has to figure out a way to educate the masses more on the quality of what they are seeing sometimes. We have had a lot of great fights labelled "boring", not because they actually were boring but because a lot of folks have no appreciation for the "science" involved in some of the things that happen in a ring.

Conor hasn't left for Boxing lol. He's just doing it to stick it to the UFC (Boxing license you mean im assuming) so they give him equity or give him some more leverage during negotiations. Conor can't compete in Boxing without the UFCs permission.

Boxing had a 100 year headstart on MMA. Shouldn't be celebrating over holding a slight lead.

I'd actually give Briggs a pretty good chance vs Joshua, mainly because Briggs penetrating through and eventually touching Joshua's chin seems inevitable to me. I don't feel like Joshua could take it.

Don't think boxing is held in any higher regard.
