I don't really care all that much, it just jumps out as being corny and pandering.
He never represented the PR flag as far as I can remember. The whole time was Philly this and Philly that. Then the Morales fight came around and he wants to pull out the PR flag simply because he wants to sell himself to an audience that he never really cared about.

It bothers me because if he really cared about his heritage and representing then he would had been doing so from the very beginning of his career.

Roy Jones Jr. becoming 100% Russian and even rooting for his "countrymen" Kovalev over Ward is what that tweet is referring to.

The US used to be a nation but doesn't really fit that definition anymore. It's still a country but not a "nation" or "nationality".

No central culture, practically non-existent borders. I like living in America but you can't pretend you don't understand why boxers wouldn't want to feel like a warrior for a specific culture instead of a big melting pot trading port people stop by, piss on, leave.

Spence Jr Parents are Jamaican I seen his dad with a Jamaican flag during his fights

Thanks for pointing that out. His grandmother has a home back there. Jamaicans pop-up everywhere though. Floyd Mayweather Jr's grandfather was Jamaican too.

Danny Garcia is a good ol' American because he's a Famous Boxing World Champion. If he was in jail or stuck in the hood in Philly hustling, he would just be a Puerto Rican. Let's not kid ourselves.

I am an amateur boxer and I am a first generation estadounidense, and I would represent Colombia before the USA if I turned pro, if i'm keeping i 100 like a C-note, and i'm also a US Army veteran who did tours in Iraq and the Ghan.

You're an American. You pay taxes in America not Mexico.

You mean they cheat taxes in America not Mexico.
