Thurman is naturally bigger...that part is true.

I guess I should say this a little better. A lot of his fights were above the 147 weight limit, although I believe he can make 147 easily. Anyway, my confusion was who is considered the natural WW. I don't know how much size will be a factor in this fight...

Exactly, it's a myth that Thurman is this huge welterweight. He usually weighs in at least 1 pound under 147, he's even weighed in at 145 and 144.

I said what I meant incorrectly. Thurman has many fights where he has weighed in above the 147 weight limit.Thurman's pro weight has kind of ranged from 145 to about 152 at weigh ins for his fights in his pro career. He can make 147 with no problem (as far as I can tell). Does that make him a natural WW? Is DSG not a natural WW? How the weigh-ins work has made being in your natural division kind of a joke, in my humble opinion.

What does being a huge or small WW even mean nowadays? It's not like they are getting weighed on fight night anymore and its pretty common for boxers to suck themselves down and blow up 15-20lbs. If you can point me to a source that provides their fight night weights, that would be appreciated... I say all of this to say that I don't think weight will matter in this fight. the natural WW comment left me confused with who the original poster was supporting... It'll be a good fight regardless.
