There needs to be a boxing watchdog which monitors fights and in particular mismatches, if one is proposed they should step in and ban it from ever happening.

Anyone with even an ounce of boxing sense knew how big a mismatch this was, I personally predicted a stoppage but that guy took a sustained beating. Not only did his corner allow it, the ref did too. It's a joke.

This post is a post that makes a lot of f***** sense. These so called confidence / tune up bouts needs to stop if they are a mismatch.

We are in for another mismatch in the UK, the Luis Ortiz bout, fighting a guy with 9 wins 1 lose 1 draw. a beast with a great record and a proven fighter, fighting a boy 24 years of age.

I don't think top 15 ranked fighters, like Groves and Eubank Jr, should be allowed to face anyone outside of the top 15

We need to end these mismatches somehow

I'm honestly tempted to complain to the BBBoC for allowing Ortiz v Allen. It's not a competitive sporting event, just a lamb for the slaughter

That fight is a disgrace and if anything comes about because of it there should be criminal charges.

I hope Allens corner just pull him out quick or there is a good old british stoppage

Agreed with both of you. I'm slightly optimistic about Allen simply because ortiz hasn't shown much in 2 fights but if he is the ortiz of 18 months or 2 years ago he could seriously hurt the kid.

Haye v bellew is another one.

Agree with the Dave Allen Vs Ortiz comments.
Also fights like Salka for Garcia, and Zerafa for Quillin. Sometimes more common sense needs to be shown.

Gutknecht's balance was all over the place in the last couple of rounds and still it wasn't stopped. The culture that says that it is honourable for a tough battered fighter to hear the final bell needs to end.

I also agree that Ortiz-Allen is a disgusting match-up. Worst possible too seeing as Allen can absorb punishment.

You're confusing a 2 world class fighters going at it with what was an obvious mismatch.

Referees should be clued into what's happening and they should have known about the skill and talent gap between the two men in the ring that night.
