That was a terrible fight. Martinez was injured. Cotto cannot beat a healthy fighter. only phakkits celebrated winning a paper belt against an injured opponent. This is much worst than the Margarito fight.

And you're forgetting that people didn't want to fight Martinez. Cotto only wanted the fight after Martinez was done and was walking on one leg.

Roach is not a matchmaker, he might have an input into who Pac fights but everything stops with Arum. Moreover Martinez wasn't a fighter people were willing to fight back in those days.

Manny would have destroyed Martinez, easy work. Timothy Bradley was the harder option, even if he got less recognition for it

Martinez had no skill, look howthe much smaller Cotto fked him up and look what Pacquiao did to Cotto. Pacquiao fked him up.

Martinez knees were damaged. He was wearing some brace when he fought Cotto. When he was healthy he was the best Middleweight in the World.
