Let's say Donaire did work his way up then what? By the time he fights you again he will be 1-2 years older and people will say you beat an even older Donaire. Just beat him now and get it over with and you're getting paid.
No one wants to see a rematch, we want progress, he clearly beat Donaire, fighting him again as is is just stalling. Donaire should fight another top guy and if he wins then a rematch can be considered, at the moment Magdaleno should move forward with his career.

Magdaleno-Rigondeaux would be awesome, although TR probably wouldn't want it.

I get that but he's clearly willing to rematch him. The whole build back up talk is nonsense. You either rematch him now or dont rematch him at all.

Magdaleno won fairly decisively, don't know if I really care to see it. Did Nonito not have a rematch clause?

"Maybe later on down the road that fight can happen but for now I want to see what else is out there for me. I want to see whatever other big names at 122 are there for me," Magdaleno told BoxingScene.com.

Here's the problem. If you are talking 122, there is NO bigger name out there.

The other "names" in division are Quigg, Rigondeaux, Hasagawa, and Oscar's kinfolks Diego.

I think Nonito trumps all of those as far as star power.

I think it is optional for a champ that if he loses and on a technicality or feels that he is robbed, he gets an immediate return, but I'm still not sure why every champ doesn't demand one.

I scored this fight a draw..it was definitely close.

Not sure how people think this was a clear win. Try seeing this fight without any bias..and then score the fight.

Too much anti-Donaire thoughts impact people's scoring of this fight in my opinion.

A rematch would be good. But at the same time, Donaire sounded quite foolish after the fight so maybe Magdaleno is just playing with that.

I agree with Jesse, phonito can't just demand a rematch like he's some kind of big shot this bum needs to earn a rematch.
