Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Names Robert McCracken As Full-Time Coach

Anthony Joshua will have a new coach in his corner for his next fight. The IBF heavyweight champion announced on Thursday, just nine days ahead of his world title defence against Eric Molina at Manchester Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, that Team GB boxing coach Robert McCracken will become his full-time coach, starting in his corner next weekend and remaining there for all future fights.

Ive had the honor of sparring with Robert McCracken. BRUTAL puncher.I think he was a 175lb'r though so he was way heavier than me at the time but he had already retired I think. He was training amateurs which I was back then. Richard Steele's Nevada Partners Gym in Las Vegas. Mr Steele referee'd the sparring sessions occasionally.

This could be a really good partnership. McCracken is the sort of coach that will keep Joshua's feet on the ground. That could be quite important going forward. There's no BS with him he just tells it how it is.

It's well known that Rob McCracken has basically been Joshua's real coach his whole career. He's the one that actually trains him.

Wait, didn't we all know that he was already AJ's real coach?
