I don't think fighters have to be alike for them to be paired on the same card or for fans to enjoy the fights.

Usyk is trying to get his profile up here in the US. Northern NJ and NYC has a large eastern european, polish and russian population that support boxing, particularly when one of their own is fighting.

I think pairing him with GGG and then Kov would allow him the opportunity to raise his profile in front of a supportive crowd.

I see no downside.

Also a large Ukrainian population in NYC.The 2nd highest after Chicago.Madison Square Garden or Barclays Center are the best venues for a Ukrainian to fight in the USA.Biggest support.

HBO searching for great white hypes but there's no american white fighters to promote. That Usyk is a boxer and not a destroyer doesn't mean anything because what's left of the HBO audience will accept whatever fighter they are hyping at the moment. That said, nobody cares about the cruiserweight division. Always been the hardest of the hardcore only paying attention to that division.

So. Let's just suppose they weren't trying to find the 'great white hype' and broadened their nets a little bit. Which champions would they be promoting? Top Black guys that aren't with Haymon? Suddenly there ain't so many to choose from. There's Bud and Dre and... ummm. I think you're seeing what you want to see here, man. Only colour HBO cares about is green.

And you're partly right about Cruiser of course, though undoubtedly there would be more US interest if there was a few top US Cruisers. Undoubtedly Usyk would be better served plying his trade in Europe, if he comes to the US, he'll run into the same problems as Golovkin, even with HBO backing K2 neither have the US leverage or the stable to reliably make good fights.

Cruiserweight is a bs division anyway. There is light heavy and then heavyweights. Roy Jones didn't do any cruiser fights for a reason: Because nobody cares!

The limit for cruiser should be 220. Then we can have fair fights without creating a super heavyweight division. As it is, cruisers are a novelty a side-show at a carnival.

You may find that ironic but there is a difference between sarcasm and flat out ******ity. Considering the average I.Q. level on here its not all that far fatched to believe someone actually live and dies by that mentality. See aboutfkntime and every fool on here like him..you'd think it's trolling but there are genuine and openly admitted fans on here who support guys like ward and floyd simply because they are black. i'm cool for supporting whatever complexion you want but keep that shh to yourself.
