I don't think the CW division is going to appeal to an American audience right now but I'm glad they're at least giving Usyk some exposure. He's a real talent.

HBO seem to be going all in on the quality over quantity angle. No matter where they are from.

I think Usyk fits that quite well.

Tricky promoting them though. If, as I think will happen, Usyk makes it onto the P4P list, the list is going to be a whose who of HBO fighters soon.

Gonzalez, Ward, Kovalev, Alvarez, Usyk, Lomachenko, Crawford, GGG (in no order)

Usyk is good. Probably the best in his weight. Best Ukrainian boxer after Lomachenko.
But cruiserweight is just such a unpopular division, that he will never become a draw by himself.

Now If you could also toss in a Roman Gonzalez Vs. Cuadras rematch with Usyk Vs. a top 10 cruiserweight you'd have yourself possibly one of the best cards put together that likely wouldn't be topped in 2017.

I don't think fighters have to be alike for them to be paired on the same card or for fans to enjoy the fights.

Usyk is trying to get his profile up here in the US. Northern NJ and NYC has a large eastern european, polish and russian population that support boxing, particularly when one of their own is fighting.

I think pairing him with GGG and then Kov would allow him the opportunity to raise his profile in front of a supportive crowd.

              I see no downside.

Sadly only die hard boxing fans and people in Europe will follow the cruisers because HBO etc won't focus too heavily on it because there are no serious American fighters up there.

Cruiserweight is the best division in boxing right now for me that is.

"usyk, another white hype that hbo is trying to shove down our throats before ward schools him on his way to becoming heavyweight champ"'

white guys jut aren't midgets and typically get above 5'7. And usyk is an amazing fighter

You should stick to your midget mexi and philpino/thai weight classes boy.
