I think it mostly has to do with forcing UFC's hand, he seems adamant in getting a stake of the company because he draws it a lot of revenue. He said 'if they want me to come back, I want to be a shareholder in the UFC.' I don't know if he'll actually box, but he's certainly trying to get a reaction from the UFC. Or maybe they've already denied him privately and he's legit trying to enter boxing now.
