Comments Thread For: Conor McGregor Gets Approval For Boxing License In California

Conor McGregor clearly knows how to generate interest in his career. Espn.com reported Wednesday night that McGregor's application for a boxing license in California has been approved by the California State Athletic Commission. Whether McGregor actually intends to participate in what would be his first professional boxing match is unknown, but his licensure certainly will increase speculation that the UFC lightweight champion intends to eventually fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing match.

It's going to be conor-floyd.... It breaks all known records and both will walk away with a 9 figure check that exceeds anything they have ever seen.. Including Floyd's payday for manny...

It's the two best marketable fighters.... It will break 5 mil PPv buys with ease

Why you hating? Boxing needs Conor, he will help the sport dummy. He is the biggest star UFC has, if he goes to Boxign he will make an easy 10 million on his debut, the guy is a draw, UFC is paying him peanuts, he will bring more eyes to the sport and he wont even need to fight Floyd

Conor knows he has a fanbase, he realized when he took an L that peopke didnt care, he actually did even bigger numbers after that.

The guy has the It factor, and Boxing should welcome him with open arms, he is young and said he wants to retire before 35, his first boxing fight will draw at least 900k buys or more.

I say put him in with Pacquiao and have him knock Manny out cold, Conor should sign with TopRank, since Arum is doing business with Haymon now, Haymon cannot promote under Ali act you cannot act as a promoter and manager, so he uses other guys like dibella, etc to promote for his events, Top rank can sign him up easily.

Put him in with 3 tune up fights before giving him a title shot, if he looks good against some veteran fighters give him danny garcia, Pacman, thurman or porter, etc.

I hope he crosses over! its great news for boxing.
