Brandon Rios VS Victor Ortiz 2-4-17!!!!

Torn on this one.
Ortiz filled out and belonged at welterweight.
Brandon looks flabby, slow, and has zero power or pop. His wins at 47 are a DQ over Chavez and KOing Alvarado, who had zero sleep after getting out of jail and his meth power had worn off.
I roll with Rios, but my gut says Ortiz wins this fight.Comment

As long as Rios hasn't lost his ability to take a shot, he should find a way to win. I'm not reading too much into the Bradley KO in terms of his punch resistance. It's well known that Rios had to lose an insane amount of weight during camp and even the day before the fight. He's only got himself to blame for that of course.
Ortiz is totally finished though, probably even more than Rios is because Rios will always have an element of fight and toughness that Ortiz doesn't.
Ortiz can definitely crack though, in any fight you at least have to give him a punchers chance. It's a shame really because he has bags full of ability, it's just his mental strength that makes it count for nothing. Talent-wise, he's way beyond Rios but i don't think he has the heart to beat him. Their toughness is at opposite ends of the spectrum really to the point where it overtakes the skill level.
I still like the fight though, yeah they're both finished but it will be a good build up and i'm certain we will all be watching come fight night, just out of curiosity.Comment

Tempted to agree. Timing really is important because I don't really care at this point if the fight gets made or not.
On the flip side, I find myself thinking, "if" Ortiz does this or "if" Rios does that - it's turned into a very uncertain matchup at this point. Rios, tbf, has shown better consistency so he may well end up being the favorite with the oddsmakers.Comment
