yeah well we will see who he ends upfighting in 2017, im predicting arreola II and tony thompson, which would make 2017 one of wilders best years opposition wiseComment

I guess we'll find out soon enough. I think Povetkin drops Wilder at least once, early on, no matter how it ends up. But I think he can do at least as well as Spilka, probably better.Comment

Close fight, but it's just the Wilder fanboy talking if you really think your guy was dominating.Comment

Wilder clearly is not eager to face Povetkin, the minute traces found were not even sufficient to warrant a ban.Quote:

Not so much focusing on their talent as where each fighter will stand in the big picture afterwards. I favor Povetkin, and the same later vs Wilder. He has some slick ways to get past the reach disadvantage, and the only time he gassed out was vs Huck which he didn't prepare properly for.
So, you don't think he's improved since then? 3+ years ago? I do. And besides, Wilder is no Wlad, even at 40.
Wlad
Szpilka was out boxing him, he was theee rounds down at the time of the stoppage. If you believe Povetkin is not as skilled as Szpilka you've no place on a boxing forum.... well this is NSB, I take that back you're at the right place.Everyone who fights Wilder sees his flaws and consider him eminently beatable, which I guess he is. But they get in there and they quickly realize his size, speed, and power can more than make up for his flaws and they soon end up on the canvas. I don't think Povetkin will be any different..Comment

No Szpilka absolutely was not winning, he was the one taking the big shots while landing very little in return. He was using movement to make Wilder miss but he was not making him pay at all which is why he was down on the cards when the fight was stopped. There is no legitimate way to score the fight that way for Szpilka and even trying to say that damages your credibility.
Povetkin also fights nothing like Szpilka and doesn't move his head unless someone is moving it for him, plus he is not a southpaw. So totally different fighters, Povetkin probably would beat Szpilka but I don't think he would have an easy go of it or that Szpilka would look like he didn't belong in the ring with him. So saying that is a terrible comparison also.Comment
