Is the "GGG" a major draw in the UK (using Brook's name) the biggest stretch?

A GG-Eubank fight at the O2 would have sold out and replicated the numbers set by GG-Brook. Again, which is why it was set for PPV and the terms were exactly the same. If Brook accepted the exact same terms as what Jr was offered and walked away with £5m, then we know that that's what Jr would have made. So Eddie Hearn and Matchroom had huge confidence in the amount of PPV's buys it would have generated.
If Brook fought Spence at the O2, it would probably still sell out, but not as quick, and it wouldn't generate anywhere near as much in PPV as GG-Eubank.
GG is the main reason why the fight did 500k in PPV revenue, not Brook.

The guy who's life has been taken over by a Khazakstan MW.
Why would GG-Canelo be on U.K. PPV?
Canelo-Brook wouldn't be on U.K. PPV. It would be on Sky Sports.
In the case of GG-Brook, Brook wasn't the reason the fight grossed 600k in PPV revenue. Which you'd know if you knew anything about Kell Brook or the British boxing scene.
Now run along. It's surely time for you to replace your picture of GG on your dartboard.

The only reason Khan-Canelo wasn't was because he was signed to Boxnation. You guys are so desperate to make Lil G out to be bigger than he actually is you disregard all common sense.

Brook's not a big enough name to warrant PPV in a fight outside of the U.K.
How many U.K. PPV's have there been when the British fighter has fought abroad?
They've nearly always been on Sky Sports, BoxNation, or in the past, Setanta, or as part of a double header with a big U.S. show.
A Brook-Canelo fight would absolutely bomb on PPV if was staged outside of the U.K.
You're clueless.

The fight was a huge draw. British welterweight moving 2 classes to fight the most feared man in boxing.
Kell Brook against a nobody is not a big fight. Golovkin fighting a non brit is not a huge fight but put him in against a british fighter and the fight will be huge. British fans treat boxing like soccer. Always supporting the home team.

Again, most of them have been on subscription channels like Sky Sports, Boxnation, and Setanta Sports. Or, most notably in the 90's, you'd pay for a PPV which coincided with a big U.S. show.
Tell me the last time you paid a one off PPV to see a British fighter fight abroad.
Tell me the last time you paid a one off PPV to see any fighter fight abroad? It must have been Floyd-Manny.
Kell is with Eddie Hearn at Matchroom, who has a deal with Sky Sports. He could NEVER charge the U.K. public £16.95 to watch Kell fight Canelo in the U.S. as nobody would buy it. He could only charge that if it was staged in the U.K. along with other fights on the bill.

Really?
All you've given me so far is ONE fight. A fight that was a huge HW unification. A fight that was also from Germany.
What about a U.S. based fight? That's the point I was making. I should have been clearer. I should have said in the U.S. instead of saying abroad.
You really think a fight with Brook and Canelo would warrant the same interest?
You're kidding yourself.
Nobody would pay £16 plus to see Brook fight Canelo in the U.S.
It would never be on U.K. PPV.Last edited by robertzimmerman; 12-05-2016, 10:55 PM.
