I think he needs to have a high punch output all 12 Rds and focus more on the body. Don't try and box with Ward, make it a fight. Must have the stamina to go hard all 12 and out punch Ward by a wide margin

I hope he doesnt make the same mistake that Maidana made vs floyd in the rematch and try to fight at a more measured pace to conserve energy. Slower pace makes it easier for boxers like floyd and Ward to outpoint you.. You have to make them constantly react to you. Kovolev needs Ward to be constantly reacting, instead of getting comfortable like he did in the 2nd half of the first fight

Kovalev can win it by knockout but also easy UD by only jabbing and keeping distance.

do the exact same, but he only needs to finish strong, that will be hard due to the inside that ward gives. But its completely possible. Ward is going to do the same thing over and over...that is his game, maybe he can add more speed to see if that can trouble Krusher.

Use more uppercuts to avoid fighting inside

just by hiring a world class conditioning coach, he would be able to dominate 12 rounds like he dominates rounds where he presses the fight more....he's always thinking about conserving energy....if his body feels fresher ,he will let his hands go more....dude already has great distance management. Ward already had a Mackie Shilstone in his team, he can't do any better physically. When they're both at 100%, Ward doesn't have the skills to hang with Sergey at mid range, doesn't have the power to keep him honest and doesn't have the strength to maul him.

Shorten up his punches, catch Ward coming in

Jab more, invest in the body early instead of the 12th round, step back when Ward comes in and feint him into the right hand when he tries to get inside!

Ward will look to come to Kov so Kov needs to use that to his advantage!

Like he said about Pascal in their rematch:
"There is nothing he can learn in that amount of time that will help him"

Ward has much more room to improve upon, Kovalev was 100%, fully peaked.

Kovalev has got rematch in bag already. Kov found first fight easy. Thought it was easy. Thought he was beating ward easy so didn't feel the need to push himself moire than necesary. In the 12th and final round kov thought he was 8-3 rounds ahead. Basically bringing his level down to that of wards. In next fight kov needs to fight each round as if he lost the last round
But kov was naive in not knowing judges had other ideas. So not being naive is what he can do different.
I bet nobody has come up with reply like this!
