I agree with this. K2 and HBO don't have the business relationship that some of the US-based promotions who have historically worked with HBO do.

K2 also have a weird business model based around having just a few top fighters, but no padding so they can't have 'in-house' fights when no one else is available and can't offer reciprocals to other promoters (ie 'you let Golovkin fight one of yours and we'll provide a semi-decent opponent for one of your top guys') - it's kinda a one shot deal and doesn't encourage building much of a relationship with US promoters. Usyk will find himself in a similar position if they try to build him in the US, other promotion teams will be like 'what's in it for us?'.Originally posted by DeadLikeMe View PostI agree with this. Better to reserve final judgement until the end of their careers and only then to compare who had better wins. It`s a pity that we as boxing fans didn`t get Lomachenko-Rigondeaux, before Lomachenko moved up.
I would`ve prefer him to get that fight first and only then to move up.
Same for GGG, I don`t want him to move up just yet, as there are potentially great fights in MW that I as a fan want to see. I am not even talking about ginger mexican chicken, but about guys like Andrade and others who will move up in the next 1-2 years.

K2 is providing promotion services to GGG, not owning him as a fighter. So GGG is essentially his own man. What he earns is his, without any binding obligations to promoter. I guess GGG as a truly self-made man is content with this fact.Originally posted by Koba-Grozny View PostK2 also have a weird business model based around having just a few top fighters, but no padding so they can't have 'in-house' fights when no one else is available and can't offer reciprocals to other promoters (ie 'you let Golovkin fight one of yours and we'll provide a semi-decent opponent for one of your top guys') - it's kinda a one shot deal and doesn't encourage building much of a relationship with US promoters. Golden Goose Gennady's priority is to sit on those golden eggs until Canelo, DeGale and Hearn gift him another PPV spot as he ain't carrying one on his own.Originally posted by INDIFFERENT View Postdidn't know GGG's main priority is to fight more world champs than Lomachenko. But if it was, it's not like it's his fault.
Get used to him sitting around and avoiding top opposition in the mean time, but hey we got some real men in the sport in Andre Ward, Klitschko, BHOP,Usyk, Sergei Kovalev and Lomachenko who will genuinely face anyone.

He's more complete, p4p he'd smack him around like a little b1tch. GGG looked gassed when Brook tried to make a fight of it, a Lomachenko as a natural 160 fighter would be as good as RJJ if not better.Originally posted by BrometheusBob.
