Exactly. And Loma is that guy who will gut it out and never stop trying. There might be other fighters in upper weight divisions that can bring out the beast in Loma, but there's no one besides Loma that will be able to bring out the beast in Rigo. You can't really blame him. Like all the cubans they grew up being taught you get up a point and then defend. So they all tend to fight just above the level of their opponent. Its hard to drill out so many years of that system.
But Rigo has show us he can rise to the occasion when it is called of him.
If he can still do it at 36 is yet to be seen. But I hope we get to see him in against atleast 1 more top level fighter in his career.
Yeah, he has had some boring performances. Some of it is just bad matchmaking. Some of it is him.
You have to remember, people thought Agbeko was going to bring it. Agbeko shelled up once he realized what he was up again.
When Hasegawa gave an effort, Rigo put on a great performance.
If you put in a guy that will gut it out and never stop trying, you will get great fights from Rigo.
When you put him in with journeymen who are use to losing and mentally give up after 1 round of realizing how hopelessly outclassed they are, Rigos inclination isn't to make it an exciting fight when the opponent decides they just want to survive the night.Comment

The truth is just the opposite of what Arum says. Right now Rigondeaux is the best fighter Lomachenko could face. The previous defeat to Salido was controversial in several ways. It was his first pro fight, Salido used many dirty tricks not allowed in amateur fights. And even then many thought Lomachenko had won.
Knowing what he does now, Lomachenko would no doubt defeat Salido. Rigondeaux is the only fighter at Lomachenko's skill level right now. It would be a great fight! Arum is trying to protect his investment and Rigondeaux is a threat to that!Comment
