Loma should definitely move up against Pac, but to move up 3 weight classes is just plain nuts. Pac will probably stand at 140 or 142 just because he is the A-side.

Back on original topic. Rig has to move up and agree to terms set by Loma and his team. Loma will have to give in a bit to show he ain't scared of fighting Rig, but not on weight.

Way bigger $$$ fights at 135 & 140. Loma is not looking in the rearview mirror. If Rigo does not want to go to 135, his team better jump in to negotiations right now and agree to 130 and take whatever purse Loma gives him. Don't fight for free, but don't price yourself out!

I'm pretty sure that Rigo is too small to beat him, but if he wants the fight let's do it
Cuz' there are bigger/better fights at 130 and 135. Loma worked hard to be the A-side against most boxers below 130. He should be able to call the shots.

BTW, I agree with you, Loma puts Rig to sleep at 126 or 130 in the later rounds.

Loma riding the high off his beatdown of Walters. He is just talking and knows he needs fights at 135 and 140 to be ready for someone on Manny's level.

Not in this lifetime or the next will he be calling shots against Manny. Manny is the face of this matchup and will be taking the lion's share of the purse, wearing his gloves, calling the ring size, setting the date, and MORE THAN LIKELY, will set the weight at 140 or above (142) IMHO.

I think Manny will be retired if Loma goes up in weight normally. I just don't see it happening next year, unless jumps 135 and goes right in to a 140 clash and sets up the Pac fight at the end of '17.

Unfortunately, politics and purses play a HUGE roll in making fights. We would ALL be let down if we did not take that shiznit in to consideration when looking at matchups.

Crappy, sure, but it is what it is!

Rigo has spent years calling out relevant fighters, who all have larger public profiles than him but refuses to budge on weight and purse. he is a sad example of what happens when greed and ego gets in the way of making relevant fights.

1: Why would Loma or Top Rank accept a catch-weight? Loma doesn't need Rigo at all. He has plenty of options at 130, and he can also move up to 135 to grab another title. Rigo on the other hand desperately needs a fight and a good payday. If he wants Loma, he has to move up to 130. Beggars can't be choosers.

Business aside, I can't see him being competitive, let alone winning. He's way too small for Loma and he has been too inactive since Donaire. His defensive abilities might allow him to go the distance but if he's not getting stopped, he's getting shut out.
Donaire put Rigo down in their fight at 122. What more would Loma do at 130? Dude, I ain't kidding, Rigo will be outclassed and then put away with power in the back end of the fight. Even at 126, Loma would kill this kid.

Ain't happening anyway. Arum is punishing Rigo!

I would like to see Rigo/Walters at 126. If Rigo dominates, then I would agree with you. Not enough data from the ****ens and Francisco fights to show he is ready for Loma.

I would really like to see the Rigo/Donaire rematch but Arum ain't having that!

There were rumors last year that Rigondeaux agreed to face Lomachenko at 126 pounds – Rigondeaux currently campaigns at 122 – but those talks cooled when a catch weight came into play. Rigondeaux says that he never agreed to meet Lomachenko at his division weight of 126, and instead feels that they should meet in the middle.

“We never spoke to Bob Arum about fighting Lomachenko at 126,” Rigondeaux said. “I really want to know how much there is to make and he should come to 124. Money talks, [expletive] walks. If you give me the right money, we’ll do it. But in our reality, I’m the king of 122 and he’s 126 so we must meet in the middle.

“One and a half million for a Lomachenko fight is too little and I think it should be more,” Rigondeaux said. “Top Rank [Lomachenko’s promoter] is just too cheap.”

                    He wants the fight tho.

**** i always thought he wanted 1.5 mil for the fight and thought he was insane but he called 1.5 mil too little? This scumbag thinks he was gonna get more then 1.5 mil, which in its self is unrealistic. Yeah let him rot, fighting bums wasting his last few years away.
