Loma will probably face Miguel Berchelt (his mandatory) in the March fight. The Salido fight, if it takes place, will probably be a few months after that.

Frampton made double that (before counting any of the UK money), and Leo Santa Cruz made over triple that on their first fight; the rematch likely puts even more money into their pockets. Linares is heading back to the UK for another showdown, and Mikey Garcia seems in line for a sizable push on Showtime.

In case you've forgotten, Lomachenko is still promoted by Bob Arum
My bad!!! I did. I guess I'm going to have to look at Top Rank fighters for him to fight...

I am no fan of Lomachenko. However, I have to give the man credit for his willingness to get in the ring with the best competition in and around his weight class. I think he is overhyped.

However, none of the other overhyped fighters out there -- Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Canelo Alvarez, Golovkin, Deontay Wilder -- have not shown a willingness to do what Lomachenko has done in fighting the best fighters. Unlike these guys, Lomachenko doesn't just talk s...t. He actually backs it up, and I admire him for that.

I'm not criticising the opinion, but are you saying he's overhyped by fans on forums or the boxing media (or both)? Which fighters would you like to see getting more love?

                Not That Good

I just rewatched the Lomachenko/Gary Russell fight, and Loma did a whole lot of running in that fight. I actually think that Russell won that fight. Whenever Loma did engage, he connected but so did Russell. Loma did not want to engage Russell once he felt his power and quickness. Look at the fight again and you will see what I'm talking about. Russell would beat Loma in a rematch easily. The reason why Russell missed a lot in that fight was because Loma did not want to engage him; he kept his distance every time Russell came forward. There was only one round that Loma engaged Russell, and he must have felt something because he did not do it again until the last few seconds of the last round.
Russel is much better than Lomachenko!!!

                  Sounds perfect.

I don't think anybody is going to be able to hang with Loma. I don't know if it can happen but I think he either needs to look down the scale to Rigo or go up to Crawford to find an interesting challenge.

I don't think he has to do that right now though. He has unfinished business with Salido and the Vargas fight would be fun to see too.

I worry Salido's team might be overly difficult to deal with making the rematch. I don't think he wants it.

if lomachenko could fight salido vargas and corrales in 2017 that would be great.he will have to fight his mandatory berchelt so that takes up one those fights.I would be stoked if he fought 4 times next year. lomachenko making boxing great again!!!

In that order.... Then 2018 crawford, manny or 135 champs
Agreed except I'd go with Jason Sosa instead of Vargas as I think his style would bother Loma more plus he's with Top Rank so it's easier to make

Berchelt would also be fine with me, I think he's got some talent and would make a solid title defence

But the main thing is that he bookends the year with Salido and Gamboa. That would be perfect
