Why a potential Pac-Loma matchup is a no-win situation for all involved.

    1) If Pac wins, he beat a small fighter who moved up in weights.

    2) If Loma wins, it's because Pac was old / past prime and was 'draining' himself...

    3) If Loma wins it'll probably cut short his stay at 130 and possibly 135. He potentially could be an ATG at these weight classes.

Similar to how Pacquiao defeated ODLH. Pac pretty much almost skipped 135 and 140.. facing Diaz and Hatton. Imagine seeing Pacquiao at 135 at 140 for 10+ fights? He'd be an ATG in those weight divisions. We would have probably seen more knockouts from Pac.

Once Pac beat ODLH, there was no turning back. Same thing could be said for Loma, if he beats Pac.

That being said, Pacquio and Lomachenko are of similar size. And stylistically, this would be entertaining. 2 boxers with dynamic offensive games. Crazy.

If you just account for the fight itself, it'd be definitely be interesting to watch. Their styles would make for some fireworks.

But the guy who'd truly win..is Arum.

It's a win situation for the fans, and isn't that all that matters?

I do think this would be a fan friendly match-up. For sure.

Ideally, I'd rather have Lomachenko face Mikey Garcia. And Pac face Crawford. In this way, they both adjust to new weights.

If they both win, they can meet later in the year... That'll make for a fight everyone will approve of.

I agree. I want Loma to stay at his proper fighting weight of 130 unless that weight becomes difficult for him to make and stay strong. Today I think too many are obsessed with demanding successful boxers move up in weight again and again to see how many weight classes they can win titles in. That's not a smart thing for a boxer to do. Fighting higher and higher above their best fighting weight makes things harder and harder for them. When they climb too high in weight they get beat and often knocked out and they are often never as good again. Gonzalez used to completely dominate his weight class. Now that he has moved up in weight several times and fights at 115 he isn't nearly as dominant at that weight. I would rather see Loma absolutely dominate and rule 130 for years than take a chance on him losing to another great boxer who is ten or more pounds bigger than him in natural fighting weight.
