Nonito Donaire reacts to Walters quiting

Donaire seems like a really great guy, but he got's a point I used to be a Walters fan but quitting like that is never good, Mike Alvardo still gets back lash for not coming out for the 4th around against Rios and it looked like Alvardo was about to die, Walters barley took that much punishment and he quit, and Lomachenko has power but not the type of power that would make you quit -
Walters may not have been bludgeoned which is what we expect when a fighter quits - what happened to him was something worse. He had any hope of winning taken from him when he knew he couldn't do anything to Lom. In a war, a guy getting beat up still thinks he can win because he is able to land and avoid some punches. Walters didn't have either going for him. It's not about if he was taking horrible punishment, it's about the realization he was not going to win this fight at all whatsoever and those punches Lom was landing all over him did hurt. But what happened to him was a form of despair.Last edited by richardt; 11-27-2016, 11:46 AM.Comment

well thats not a good look. He deserves criticism. If every single boxer just flat out quit because they're losing on the cards, that would be horrible for the sport. To all those defending him, you wouldnt like the sport very much if every single boxer who is losing did what Walters did.Comment
