    Holding Played A Huge Part

What isn't being talked about much is the fact that Kovalev held excessively and in a manner so blatant the judges could not help but notice.

There is a youtube video that contends Sergei held 54 times. To put this in perspective, Mayweather vs Pacquiao had about 25 clinches and, while not all of them were initiated by Floyd, many Pacquiao supporters thought Manny was held too much.

The link to the youtube has been posted here before but I will include it here.

    You decide.

Do you think it was Kovalev initiating all or most of these?
And, do you think this affected the scorecards of the judges?

It was Ward who initiated most of the holding. Every time Ward got close enough he would grab Kovalev and start holding and hitting. He gave Kovalev no choice but to hold and wrestle back. It's only Ward fans who try to blame Kovalev for all the holding. Kovalev seldom holds in any of his fights while Ward is world famous for holding, wrestling, and illegal holding and hitting. Ward calls it in fighting but it isn't in fighting, it's holding with one hand while hitting with the other hand. In fighting is close range fighting without the holding.

it was clearly ward holding and hitting. if you notice in the video it cuts to when kov is already holding not who initiated it. ward likes to hold then let his hands go but it doesnt show the whole sequence of course just a screen grab. biased crap. you wanted kovalev to stand there and get held and hit? no, he grabbed ward to prevent him from holding and hitting him. if the ref had taken charge and warned and punished ward for holding and hitting this never would hve happened, the figh would have been much better, kov would have completely dominated, and you wouldn't have to make up such nonsense.

I thought both guys held. At times Ward held, and times Kovalev held. Sometimes because of how Ward came in it happened, sometimes it was to tie him up inside.

The fight didn't come close to being as messy as i imagined it could have got. IMO.

Ward came in like a bulldozer and tries to hit Kovalev with his head and hit him while holding. So Kovalev Dirtied back and grabs his arms. The video you showed just shows what Kovalev would respond to Andre Ward's initiation of the clinch ******! All awhile skipping the part where Ward initiated the clinches with him grabbing the waist and the legs of Kovalev while coming in with his head!

It was Ward's inability to box in the outside caused the clinches because he kept coming in with the had of is and Kovalev is forced to counter by being a dirty fighter. Are you all blind or are you all ******?

              truth right here.

kovalev's clinch was a emptive and pre emptive clinch against ward's clinch.

I am asking you guys who responded if you think the judges scored negatively for Kovalev because of the headlocks.

                I think they did.

If you disagree please explain why.
