What is the latest on Jose Benavidez?

He was recently shot, I'm guessing he'll be back in the first quarter of 2017. I'd like to see him fight Ponomarev or Vargas.

Ive heard he wont ever walk the same after being shot in the knee cap.

His career is done.

He's been awol on social media (FB, twitter, IG) since before the shooting in August. My understanding is he got shot in the leg & one of his fingers. Idk the severity of either, but it seems like being shot in the finger could have led to a loss of a finger or severe damage to a finger which I would assume could led to the end of his boxing career.

Been curious about his status myself as lil news has seemed to leaked out. Maybe someone who gots inside info or follow Fat Dan weekend chats gots some details on whats up with Jose. Gots to be something thats gotten out about his situation & potential comeback if the injuries weren't THAT bad.
