Kevin Iole and Lance Puigmire are the most influential media sources in boxing, for the simple fact that they have mainstream pull and their credibility has yet to be put into question.

The mentality behind this thread (the need to model and validate your opinions through a journalist) says a whole lot.

Mitch Abramson. One of the few boxing writers out there who calls it right down the middle. The only writer at Ring worth a damn

Benstein has become more cautious and passive when calling fights, you can tell he's trying not to rock the boat with Paulie...it's kinda sad. I believe Bernstein would tell it honestly as long as Paulie is not there to judge him and demean his opinion.

As far as these media guys, they're all flawed. It's actually a bad reflection on the kind of people that cover this niche sport. I mean guys like Dontae actually have media credentials, that's insane - the guy doesn't even know he's inside a box and there's the possibility of looking outside of it. I'd at least listen to the opinion of someone that's been in the sport for more than a decade; guys like Dougie Fischer, Brian Kenny....Kevin Iole has printed incorrect information in his articles one too many times - it's not an easy choice.
