Now Kovalev understands that beating Andre Ward on points isn't allowed in the States, he'll go for the KO in the rematch, and I'm sure he'll get it.

So true, I attended this fight. The decision was based off fan reaction. Ward would land a jab and miss a hook by six inches and the fans would go nuts. It was very pro Ward, all off the fans around me were for Ward. None paid to get in, they were giving tickets away for this fight. The Hooker fight before Ward proved how fights were being judged. When the scores were read we knew Ward was getting it. It was sad to see, it was the first fight I ever attended and could very well be the last.

Kovalev cant leave ward standing if he wants his belts back, i mean he only won one round on one scorecard out of the last 6, thats just not the way the fight went in any sane persons head, i think even roy jones would admit that wasnt the case, well maybe not, him and max are surgically attached to andres testicles, as are the powers that be on the west coast, sad but true

Your absolutely right. I attended this fight and was surrounded by Ward fans who got in for free. There were so many available tickets they were Roc Nation was basically giving them away. The crowd was very pro Ward, he would land a jab and people were jumping and screaming that Kovalev was hurt, never mind Ward missed the follow up by six inches. This fight was judged off of fan reaction, Kov only won the rds he kept the crowd quiet. It was a sad fight to attend, I knew what was going to happen once the fight entered the last few rds.

smh, now there's a problem with American judges..Kovalev didn't complain when he was awarded a split decision win vs Boone in 2010, even though he was dropped in round 7..a fight that footage mysteriously disappeared from the net. .and that fight was in the states. so cut the crap, he faded down the stretch and ward won the championship rounds. nothing too complicated.

Thats actually false, as someone who seen the fight live. Ward did not win the last few rounds. Maybe the the 12 but neither really did much in it. Kov had a few late rounds where he backed up Ward, landed more punches and landed cleaner punches. The issue was the crowd. Ward would land a jab and the arena erupted, even when he missed the follow up by six inches. This fight was judged off of crowd reaction. It was close no doubt but Ward never did enough to take the titles. Kellermans reaction in the ring said it all.

I have to disagree with you man. I was at this fight, Ward won off of crowd reaction. He would land a jab and the place would erupt, even after missing his follow up punch by six inches. I was surrounded by Ward fans who got in for free, they all saying he didnt do enough before the decision was announced but didnt hesitate to go nuts after he was awarded the decision. This was the first card I ever attended and as a long time boxing fan I may never attend another. This fight is why MMA is gaining so much ground on boxing.

The fight was close but Ward didnt do enough to beat the champ. There were plenty of later rounds where Ward was backed up, out landed and out worked, but the crowd would go nuts of a simple jab and the judges looked for any excuse to give it to Ward. Perfect example....the Hooker fight in the co main event. Those same fans who said Ward didnt do enough said Hooker lost a wide dec....and what happened? He was protected.
