FACT: Saunders/Jacobs have BOTH recently had more relevant fights at middleweight than lil'G

so the comment below, is wrong.....

..... because, there IS actually a less-relevant champ within boxing, and he is fighting in the exact same division LMAO
lucky them - Eubanks Saunders fight is not recent but even so we know what happened to Eubanks when it came time to sign with Golovkin.
When Quillen was champ he became a business man. He was in Golovkin's sights but didn't want any of it. He even dropped his title running scared from Korobov. Korobov - he who lost to Lee. Luckily Uncle Al got Quillen the money he needed to lace up his gloves again.
So not sure how fighters who blatantly ducked Golovkin suddenly made Saunders and Jacobs more relevant after getting beaten by them. Murray who should have beaten Martinez was more relevant when he fought GGG. Lemieux and Stevens shade Quillen and Eubanks.
I don't see Saunders in any hurry to fight Stevens - BJS ducked Stevens when he had a chance to be on Canelo Smith undercard in front of 40,000 fans live and 200,000 ppv and virtually guarantee himself a shot at Canelo.

The hate is amazing. I'm all for GGG fighting a higher level but I can see ducking when it occurs - especially Eubanks.

Canelo might become the mandatory, but the purse split might scare him away.
Bingo. That is exactly what is happening. I do not know the earning power that Bill has in the UK...but at some point in time he will have to cash in the belt he has, and take a chance fighting a contender.

I guess once GGG has got his paws on it, then the unified champ remains irrelevant right ? ok. And as Roy Jones says, Trump and Mayweather are the two most intelligent people in America too.
The problem is the division is so weak, the entire division is irrelevant. Notice in the build up of Ward Kovalev, no one has mentioned GayLoveKin? People are tired of him fighting nobodies, and the guys offering to fight him get no attention, don't deserve the fight, or get lowball offers? Yeah, he's a ducker himself.

we were not discussing "popular", the poster who I replied to was discussing current "relevance"

BOTH Saunders/Jacobs have recently had more relevant middleweight fights than Golovkin has..... with the unknown Dominic Wade and then an unsanctioned welter

neither Ward nor Kovalev are popular, but that fight was highly anticipated AND relevant

that poster's comments were designed solely to bash Saunders, but they were not very accurate

he should have just stated that Saunders is a git
I have one question for you: For Golovkin, what middleweight fight would be relevant, that can be made? Given how he has difficulty finding viable opponents, we need to look at HOW he beats fighters, not just WHO he beats.

I'm ultra hurt from your comments, the problem is, I speak the truth. Who's at the MW division that's p4p ranked? Who's there that would be HOF or ATG material? Go ahead and try to come up with an excuse...I'll wait here.

Golovkin is a middleweight. He is not a big middlweight. His goal is to unify the division. He is not ducking anybody.

I'll reply - Canelo is ranked, and ran from the MW division so that he did not have to fight Golovkin. It's as simple as that.

Golovkin's strategy is very clear. Fight for and win all of the belts in the MW division. As he is trying to get that last belt, keep active and earn money fighting quality opponents.

Canelo's last fight was at 154, thus he is NOT a MW, and his biggest payday was offered to him...he turned it down...what else you got? If you're p4p material, you should be able to move up at least a single division right? Why doesn't GayLoveKin sign to fight the Degale vs jack winner? Because he's a puzzy.
