He would be twice as good of a fighter. I never see him throw hooks, kinda curious why he shies away from this punch??

Ward needs to learn to throw more than a single punch at a time.

Kovalev didn't exactly throw punches in bunches either.

Agreed. And, some people do just fine throwing one punch at a time.

I agree. Not enough left hooks from him at all. The (former) soviet school is a bit 1-2 happy so maybe that's why.

kovalev is in love with his power and he usually doesnt need anything else than the 1,2 cause his feints and body movements usually draw the move out of his oppenents that he needs to land it.

You won't beat Ward throwing one punch at a time. He definitely needs to throw more uppercuts and Hooks to win the rematch convincingly.

I remember thinking the same thing. Hooks to the body in particular would take his game to the next level.

Kovalev actually throws a lot of right hooks which is not that common for guys to throw hooks from the backhand. He DOES need a left hook but when your jab breaks bones it doesn't matter I guess. I mean he's practically beaten everybody infront of him so who am I to say what he needs to do better lol.

I mean yeah, who am i to say what kov needs, he's destroyed everyone and was just robbed-HE won that fight. I just thought there were a lot of openings when they were coming out of the clinch and ward was always looking for kov left jab or straight right. He's kinda built to be a long arm straight distance puncher..but I can't help but feel an ok left hook would help his game a lot.
